Tambo Fire Engine

For a piece of transport history, visit Flo, the Tambo Rural Fire Brigade’s fire truck. The imported 1928 model did service in Brisbane and Charleville before being brought to Tambo to complete her working life. The truck has been beautifully refurbished and is definitely worth a photograph! The Rural Fire Service (RFS) is the volunteer side of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), and provides fire services to 93% of Queensland. Across Queensland, the RFS is made up of approximately 36,000 volunteers, including 2400 Fire Wardens, who make up approximately 1500 rural fire brigades.
