The Yaraka area was once part of the giant Milo sheep station located on the southern side of the Yang Yang Ranges. Nestled between Mesa Hills with the backdrop being the Yang Yang, the region boasts picture postcard scenery.

Across a vast clay pan, not far from the centre of Yaraka, you can find the grave of Richard Magoffin who perished from thirst only a few hundred metres from the river.
Head to the top and let the magnificent 360-degree view take your breath away. Visitors compare Mt Slowcombe to being Queensland's equivalent to the Northern Territory's Kakadu.
